The price we quote on our price list is to take out slight damage to a painted wheel that has been 'kerbed' i.e. the rim and sometimes spokes have been scuffed against a pavement or similar. We will grind down the rim to remove minor damage and if necessary use special fillers to deal with deeper scratches. We will then prime, paint and lacquer the wheel to leave a tough finish with a high shine. In most cases we can match the paint colour and finish exactly but this is not always possible.
Multi-spoke alloys can be refurbished but as they are very time consuming we do have to charge more for these. Similarly with the paint finish that looks like chrome as the paint is about 20 times more expensive than the other paint we use we do like to charge a bit more for these as well. Please do bring them along for a quote.
Polished alloys are almost impossible to do as after a while the new lacquer tends to lift whatever we do. We have however had some success where the polishing is just to the rim of the wheel. We now polish the rim and leave it unlacquered. The results we have obtained seem to last well without corroding and with regular cleaning should last for years. It is also possible to paint the whole wheel where corrosion has affected large areas of polished wheels and this has been well received by many of our customers. We will be happy to discuss the options if you wish.
We usually aim to turn around (if you excuse the pun) painted alloys in 24 hours. Some customers leave their vehicle with us and occasionally we may undertake bumper or interior repairs at the same time to reduce 'off road' time to a minimum.
If you would like a quote please come along to our workshop on a Saturday morning when we will be happy to have a look for you without charge or obligation.
